How it works:

  • Based on the information you send us, we will send a highly qualified and well equipped technician to your property at the right time for optimal effectiveness. The technician will walk your property (with you if you prefer) to survey for weed species present as well as growth stages and presence of desirable plants, environmental considerations such as standing water and drainage ways, and other important field conditions.

  • If it is appropriate, the technician will make a selection of herbicide products, rates and application methods that will give the most effective weed control while ensuring the safety of desirable plants, animals, humans, and the environment in general. As we get to know your property better, we will fine-tune an ongoing weed management plan that will deliver beautiful results year after year.

FAQ

What weeds do I have?

A sound weed management plan is dependent on knowing the enemy! Click here for resources to help identify the most common weeds we face here in Colorado.

How much does this cost?

Contact us for a quote for your specific property. We generally charge based on the area that is actually treated – so we don’t invoice until after the work is done. We are happy to work with properties of all sizes, but be aware that we do have a minimum charge per visit.

Do your technicians know what they’re doing?

At a minimum, our technicians are licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. In addition our techs go through extensive training to ensure that they have the knowledge required to safely and effectively identify weeds and perform herbicide applications. Most importantly, Weed Wranglers technicians have over 100 years of combined experience managing weeds on Colorado’s Front Range.

Are herbicides safe?

Every herbicide Weed Wranglers has used, and ever will use, are registered with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and are in compliance with any county, city, or municipality restrictions that exist where they are applied. Pesticide Laws and Labels are the backbone of preventing harm to animals, people, the evnironment, and ourselves while applying pesticides; knowing and using our labels is a daily priority for Weed Wranglers technicians.

Safety is top priority at Weed Wranglers, and you can be confident our technicians take every precaution against the risk of misapplication and injury. All the decisions we make, the herbicides we select, the time and method of application, down to the decision of whether the current conditions allow for application are done with safety in mind.

Is this safe for pets / livestock?

Animals aren’t allowed to be on site during application, and as a requirement for a safe application need to be kept out of the area during the application. Pets should be kept inside, and kept off the application site until the product has dried (around 2 hours after technicians finish).

As for livestock, herbicides have individual grazing restriction periods printed on their label. These restrictions can last for long periods of time, but some herbicides have no restriction after the application is finished. We will work with you to determine a weed control plan that works for your pasture’s needs while delivering the best control possible.

I've scheduled an application, what's next?

Great! We will work with you during scheduling to make sure we’re prepared to give you the best control possible, so our technicians can show up to your property ready to work. Once we’re on-site, we will try to call or speak with you before we walk around the proerty and survey for weeds and any saftey concerns (even particulary sensitive, desirable plants) before begining the application.

Many of our customers like to speak with our technicians before or during this walk around to point out specific problems and concerns, which is a great idea (especialy for larger properties), but as long as we can access your property and make a safe application on that day it isn’t required.

After the application is complete our technicians will speak with you again, if you are available, to confirm the time the application was finished and to discuss the best path forward for keeping your property weed free. We invoice our bills to our clients, so no payment is necessary at the time of application. True weed control takes more than one application, and recovering from a weed infestation will likely take multiple years of targeted control. Our hope is that the service we provide speaks for itself, so that we can work together going forwards to achive long term weed control, and help you get the most out of your property.
